There is a Forth man in the Fire

The difference between power and authority is that, authority regulates power. Power is subject to authority, power hearkens to the dictates of authority. In a democratic governed state, electoral power is assigned to the elected by the masses. Authority is given to the elected by legislative constitutions. The elected though regulates power of the populace, his authority is subject to legislative representation. The monarchy system of government gives full authority to the king. The king is the supreme head of the nation. He didn’t get to power by electoral process. Kingship is by Inheritance.

King Nebuchadnezzar was the King of Babylon. He had absolute authority over the Nation. The satraps, governors and administrators in his cabinet were appointed on his sole discretion. He had no reason to consult anyone when making national decisions. He makes economic, cultural and social decisions at his will. He could decide to allocate 40% of annual budget to his personal expenditures. Misappropriation, impropriety and other national misconduct were never questioned. The media always painted him in good light and the human right activists claimed silence in cases of citizen harassment. King Nebuchadnezzar made one of his decisions by erecting a golden image for the whole of Babylon to worship (Dan3:1). He consulted none of his provincial officials, It was a unilateral decision. Babylon had an existing god they worshipped. The decision by King Nebuchadnezzar for Babylonians to worship his image was just self aggrandizement. A self assertiveness blown out by arrogance, pride and self hedonism. He had thus exalted himself above the idols he considered god. He wanted to make himself a deity. The worship of king Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image was compulsory, with consequences on event of disobedience. The consequence enacted was fierce; the offenders will be thrown into a fiery furnace (Dan3:6). This was a prototype of Jungle Justice, dehumanizing of human for breaking existential laws. Nebuchadnezzar’s principal officials consented to the worship of the golden image and enacted punishment, due to the king’s supremacy. No one objected, neither the lawyers nor members of the legislature.

A while later, three Jews the king had set as administrators in the province were accused of not worshipping the golden image (Dan3:12). They appeared before King Nebuchadnezzar on account of rebellion. The king fumed with anger on account that his decree was not giving credence by the Jews. He gave the Hebrew administrators a fair hearing, if they could have a change of mind and worship the image. The Hebrew administrators stayed adamant to their belief and vowed not to bow to the image(Dan3:16-18). Nebuchadnezzar had them thrown into the furnace of fire for what he perceived as mutiny (Dan3:19). He felt their dogma and alliance could infect other principal officials, and potential rebellion towards his government might emerge.

The enemy is in constant clash with the Christian. It is perceived that Christians over estimate the deity of Jesus. It is viewed as the super canonization of God, through works of the Holy Ghost. This exactly is the point of our persecution. Our rugged belief in the works of Christ crucified. The world hates us because, us love Jesus, so we must be persecuted(John15:18,20). We are constantly oppressed and afflicted because of our faith and glorious destiny. We are afflicted physically and spiritually. It is the spiritual depletion by forces of darkness that manifest in the physical. Nebuchadnezzar was being controlled by the idolatry powers inside of him. No normal human would want to dehumanize a fellow cosmopolitan. The powers that makes the wicked perceive evil contrivance as a glorious obligation. It is these powers that manifest into witchcraft, sorcery, divination, marine prowess, enchantment and other anti-Jehovah activities.

The mission of the enemy is to destroy the Christian or have him translate from light to darkness. Spiritual cross carpeting. It is the political structure of the spiritual world. It is why the republicans aim to oust Barack Obama or have him in their political pantheon. This was why King Nebuchadnezzar offered the Hebrew men a fair hearing; worship my image or be consumed in the fire. They rejected the kings offer; they shall bow to know other God (Exodus20:3-5). Nebuchadnezzar instructed that the fire be made more intense, it is why our battle seems to intensify when we hand over to God. The enemy knows we are on the breakthrough path, so he intends to condescend our Faith. The enemy will strike with barrenness, financial downturn, marital distress, ailments that defile medical capacity. The storm of affliction will be our companion. Heaven will be on vacation, we will have near-death experiences, the wicked will intensify his wickedness. We will be asked where is our God. We will be offered refuge in the annals of darkness, but spiritual cross carpeting is never an answer. We must remember that God is king over the flood(Psalm29:10) and he is a consuming fire(Deut4:24). He consumes fire with flood and flood with fire. King Nebuchadnezzar while awaiting the sordid barbecuing of the Hebrew men, found out that they were instead relaxing with a forth man. The king leaped to his feet and immediately acknowledged the Hebrew God (Dan3:24-25). God was thus exalted and a proclamation went to promote God in Babylon(Dan3:29). The fire place is to solidify our Faith and access the blueprint of God’s vision for our lives. David accessed all the terrains he will govern while being chased by Saul. Joseph began to interpret dreams as a prisoner (Gen40:8-18).

The total destruction of the Christian will be anticipated by the wicked. Earnest expectations of the news of our short-lived death. The Hebrew men called the integrity of God to action; many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all(Psalm34:19). God’s word will remain(Matt24:35). Our persecution is not our refusal to conform to evil perception but the world’s expectation of the manifestation of the sons of God. It is perceived that the Christian will become an enigma in career, enterprise, matrimony, ministry, leadership and governance. This will cause effortless evangelism of Christ to the world. King Nebuchadnezzar perceived the Hebrew men will one day convert his nation from idolatry. He saw the potential of young men who will influence his populace with their belief. Men who will impact wisdom and turn many unto righteousness as against the many evil perpetrated in his kingdom. The wicked will end up acknowledging the God we serve and our persecution is always the spring board of promotion. Whenever we feel like quitting and seeking refuge with the enemy, let’s remember that there is always a forth man in the fire.
