Spiritual DNA Part 1: A study on John the Baptist
When the foundation be destroyed…
In far away Judea, Galilee about 2,000 years ago, the present day Jerusalem was a man in the spirit and power of Elijah, preaching repentance in the wilderness and baptizing people at the Jordan. A man of the tribe of Levi, who had been sent to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. He was a prophet born to an High Priest, which must have made his spiritual tutelage and voyage effectual, not undermining he was conceived with the Holy Ghost.
Though In the spirit of Elijah, the personality of his father showed up in him, the ‘DNA effect”. Bible never recorded any physically shared features, but immediate paternity effect dominated. This man was John the Baptist, the messenger who prepared the way for the Messiah and the greatest of all born to a woman.
DNA is the constituent of genetic information, more recently it is being used as paternity index. It shows the father of an offspring in situations of dispute. There are different types of DNA, but this study is focused on the Y-DNA, which tells immediate Patrilineal ancestry of a child. Genome of a child in dispute is analyzed against that of a man, the resultant threshold frequency shows paternity.
DNA is a contributor to genetic traits; with offspring showing ancestral phenotypic attributes. Like the Biological DNA, there is the spiritual DNA, which is the ancestral occurrence of a bloodline. It is the mystery of a lineage, which determines the pattern a man lives his life and hence, destiny. Almost, sadly most of the Spiritual DNA with man has been debased and ravaged by idolatory and, witchcraft foundation.
A reason why most humans are in different types of servitude. The lineage pattern ranges from poverty, delayed marriages, polygamy, untimely death among others.
Unlike the Biological DNA, which expresses phenotypic features from childhood. The bloodline features, stores up in the blood of a man and subtlety ravages the life of a man, until the breakthrough dawn of a man. It appears like a night thief and puts out the light that illuminates the path of a man. It is this depraved DNA that appeared suddenly in the life of John the Baptist.
The bloodline feature in his lineage was doubt. His father Zechariah, a notable high priest, doubted the angel of the Lord.
The angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah in the temple and said he was going to have a child. Zechariah said: how can I be sure? For I am an old Man, and my wife is advanced in age (Luke1: 18-20). Zechariah questioned the ability of God and still justified. The statement condescended God’s capacity. He accurately stated; God couldn’t do it. He elevated science above the Almighty. The anger of the Angel, Gabriel burned against Zechariah and he was struck with dumbness until the fulfillment Of the words. Unthinkable as it is, a chosen high priest believed not the words of God.
The prophecy could have been reversed, but God change not. The words still came to fulfillment as Elizabeth his wife gave birth to John the Baptist.
John the Baptist discharged his prophetic duties, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and preparing people for the coming of Jesus Christ.(Mark3:1-3) He admonished repentance and also baptized with water at the Jordan. He was ordained of God before being conceived, he had the Holy Spirit from birth. John the Baptist bore different witnesses about Jesus Christ. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire. (Matt3:11)
John the Baptist also had an earthly relationship with Jesus Christ, his mother Elizabeth and Mary the mother of Jesus were cousins, so we might be right to say they had social interactions growing up in Galilee. Nothing of such was stated in the scripture but John had a perfect knowledge of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the messiah the world was awaiting.
It is however unthinkable why he questioned Jesus’ being. John sent words from the prison asking if Jesus was the Messiah talked about or the world awaits another. This was a man who baptized Jesus, witnessed the Holy Spirit descend like a dove and bore record of him as the Son of God (John1: 32-34). John was a messenger of God, that ultimately knew who he was preparing the way for. Puzzling, we dare to ask where was the spirit bearing witness, but when the foundation be destroyed what can the righteous do?(Psalm11:3)
Bible scholars have repeatedly linked John’s doubt about Jesus to his execution by Herod. John had been imprisoned by Herod for berating the governor on taking Herodias, his brother’s wife. Herodias therefore had a grudge against John and wanted him Killed, but was powerless without Herod’s approval (Mark6:17-20). Herod could not kill John because he was a just and holy man, so there was no substantial reason to execute John. Immediately after John doubted Jesus, a function of his foundation.
There was a reverberation along the spiritual line, the devil had a legal charge. Two things happened; Herod made an oath unto Herodias’ daughter on his birthday and she who hated John, was incited by an evil spirit to demand for John’s head. Herod could not reverse his oath, the bible recorded that Herod was sorry (Mark6:21-26), he was unhappy about the demand because he loved to listen to John. Scripture quotes, the day John was killed as a convenient day, the devil created an opportunity for Herodias . It was all settled in the spiritual folds, John the Baptist stumbled and fell away on the account of doubt over Jesus Christ (Luke7:23).
Just like his father doubted the Angel of God, John doubted the Son of God. The core phenotypic feature of his corrupted DNA showed up and his righteous state didn’t overrule the judgement of his foundation.
